It's really kind of unfair, but recognition for James Conner's monster season has been overshadowed by the departures of Pitt football head coach Paul Chryst and athletic director Steve Pederson. I haven't been able to get to this sooner because, well, I mean, take a look around the site. Been kinda busy -
But Conner's big season has earned him quite a bit of postseason recognition in terms of making All-American teams.
Conner made the AFCA's All-American First Team and he joins Tony Dorsett and Craig Heyward as the only Pitt running backs to be named to a First Team. He also made the AP's and the Walter Camp Football Foundation's All-American Second Teams.
In the midst of everything else going on, it's important to remember that the football program isn't in complete shambles. Players like Conner give a good at least a little optimism for the team heading into next season.
