(Don't) Bet The Farm: Pitt and Indiana Predictions

We are getting closer to finding out more about the Pitt basketball team and it continues with a Big Ten-ACC Challenge matchup tonight at Indiana.

In the early going, Pitt fans have had some cause for concern. All you have to do is look below and see that all of us incorrectly picked the Panthers to top Hawaii and we were all wrong. Pitt was also waxed off the floor against San Diego State, but the Aztecs are one of the better teams in the country. The Panthers bounced back, though, with a strong and impressive victory over Kansas State to bring their record to the current status of 4-2.

Indiana stands at 5-1 and have done what is expected of them so far, minus a loss to Eastern Washington. EWU sits at 5-1 themselves, so time will tell how bad of a loss that is. The Hoosiers have beaten one ranked team so far in SMU, however,  the Mustangs have stumbled out of the gate with a tough schedule and are currently only .500. IU also is trying to keep their focus on the court, which is proving to be a bit of a challenge.

Pitt may be a little up and down, but Cam Wright is on his way back, though a timetable has not been given yet. Ryan Luther and Cam Johnson could prove to be better than many anticipated. The Panthers may not walk into conference play with a bloated record, but the non-conference schedule is already worlds better than in recent years, so the Panthers should be better prepared for ACC play. Tuesday is another opportunity to improve against a Power-5 conference opponent and one with a great pedigree.

Below are the official picks - let us know how you see things shaping up.

Anson (0-1): Indiana

Aron (0-1): Pitt

Chris (0-1): Indiana

JD (0-1): Pitt

Jim (0-1): Pitt

Stephen (0-1): Pitt
