After a few weeks of dealing with the inevitable Paul Chryst exit as well as the search for Pitt's next head football coach, things finally will come to an end today with the expected announcement of the hiring of Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi.

As I wrote earlier, the official announcement will come at 3:30 p.m. EST. I'm throwing this out there again simply because that announcement broke on Christmas Eve. We'll have a press conference reaction post at some point afterwards.

The press conference will be live streamed on the Pitt athletics site according to this tweet. I'm not yet sure if the presser will be made available on the team's flagship radio station, 93.7 FM The Fan. But due to the magnitude of it, my guess is that it will be.

Today, the football program writes its next chapter. We can't be sure of what Narduzzi will bring but with all we've heard over the past few days, it's largely being hailed as a successful hire.

We now wait and see what today will bring. And in the aftermath, thoughts will soon turn to the search for an athletic director. Staying with football, though, it will be interesting to see how long we have to wait for an announcement of Narduzzi's coordinators and the rest of his staff.
