Pitt wrestling faces difficult weekend with matches against No. 14 Edinboro and No. 8 Michigan

Pitt's wrestling team has been on an incredible roll. Having already clinched a share of the ACC title, the Panthers are looking to finish the season strong.

It won't be easy, though.

The Panthers have an incredibly difficult weekend facing two top 15 teams. On Friday, Pitt faces No. 14 Edinboro. Seven of Edinboro's ten wrestlers are ranked in the Top 20 in the nation of their weight class, including A.J. Schopp, who ranks at No. 2 at the 133-pound level and Mitchell Port, who is the top wrestler at 141 pounds. Pitt's Shelton Mack (133 pounds) and Edgar Bright (141) are both ranked in the top 20 as well, but near the bottom and they'll have their hands full.

Things don't get much easier against Michigan on Saturday. The Panthers will again match up against seven top 20 wrestlers. Four are in the top ten, including No. 2 Adam Coon at the top weight class of 285 pounds.

For what it's worth Pitt is at home and also has seven top 20 grapplers. And as we've mentioned over and over, the Panthers' sole loss on the year was to top-ranked Penn State. Pitt also has wins over four ranked programs and could be favored in both of these. If you need another reason to expect a win or two, these are the last two home meets for the season and Saturday's contest against Michigan is Senior Day.

But in the end, winning one of these would be big and both would be insane. Just two really difficult matchups here and Pitt is going to need to bring their A game to win either. You can watch both on ESPN3.
