As expected, with losses against Syracuse and North Carolina this week, Pitt fell out of both of the major college basketball polls.
The Panthers slid from No. 25 to No. 29 in the AP Poll and from No. 23 to No. 29 in the Coaches Poll.
Neither loss was really a bad one (though, how Pitt lost against Syracuse was horrific) but when you lose both games in any given week to anybody, you almost have to drop a few spots.
The good news is that if you're a ratings fiend like I tend to be, the Panthers can still get back in. They're not so far behind that it's unrealistic to think another Top 25 ranking can't come this season and with five very winnable games, a 5-0 run would probably even get into the Top 20. With three road games, I'm not sure that's going to happen, but Pitt will definitely get their shot at climbing back up the polls.
