Pitt track and field star Brycen Spratling has been on a role. The sprinter isn't just cleaning up for the Panthers - he's doing it every week. The ACC named him its Male Performer of the Week.
For the third straight time.
He ran a blistering 45.57 time in the 400 meter dash and that number wasn't only impressive on the collegiate level. The time gave him the second fastest mark for the 400 in the nation so far this year and it was also the third best time in the world. Safe to say, it was also a personal best for him.
As if that weren't enough, Spratling also anchored the 4x400 relay team, which won with a time of 3:07.98.
To be honest, Spratling is one of Pitt's most underappreciated athletes. That time in the 400 meter dash broke his own school record, he was a second-team All-American last year, and last season he was also the Big East Champion in the 500 meter race. His time in that race, 1:00.37, was an NCAA record and the third fastest time in the world in the event's history.
