Pitt vs. Virginia: Open Gamethread

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

Been a while, right?

Seems like it's been quite some time since we've had a basketball game and, well, it has been. Last we saw the Panthers, they were busy giving up three-pointers to Duke in a highly disappointing home loss. That was a tough game, obviously, and things don't get much easier today when Pitt takes on Virginia.

Going to be interesting to see this game and how Pitt responds. For one, they're coming off of an embarrassing loss to Duke. Losing to the Blue Devils isn't a bad defeat, obviously, but Pitt desperately needed a big win and not only didn't get it, but they were soundly defeated. The other noteworthy point is the layoff. The Panthers haven't played in about a week and they've had time to work on a few things during the break. Now, the question becomes if they'll be rusty or if they'll come out and play well, desperate for a big win.
