Last we checked in on Pitt's projected NCAA Tournament seed from ESPN's Bracketology page, the Panthers were a falling No. 7 seed. That was on the heels of a narrow Virginia Tech win and the devastating Syracuse loss.
Since then, Joe Lunardi has released two more sets of projections, and ... nothing has changed for Pitt. The Panthers remained a No. 7 seed in his latest bracket on Thursday.
Following that projection, Pitt suffered the North Carolina loss - but that didn't drop the Panthers. If Pitt manages a win on Sunday against Florida State, because of that, they might hold steady. The flip side is that several teams around the Panthers have lost this week and if Pitt gets to next week with a 1-0 record, that might even be enough to move them up a notch. The game is at home, but a convincing win could give them a bit of respect.
