Thanks to a three-game losing streak, Pitt has given its critics exactly what they wanted: more evidence that the Panthers should be on the bubble with a loss last night against Florida State. The Panthers will travel to take on two ACC schools in important contests to try and solidify their standing for the NCAA tournament. Two wins and they could also make sure they have an easier time in the early part of the ACC post-season party as well. A split or two losses and the Panther fan base will go completely over the edge.
Pitt's first game will be Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. at Boston College. The Eagles are second to last in the ACC with only three conference wins and seven total for the year. The game will only be on ESPN3, so check your local listings or turn on your computer later this week to see if Pitt can keep BC down and help themselves in the process.
The traveling will not stop there for Pitt as they will take to the midwest on Saturday afternoon in South Bend, Indiana to take on Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish and Panthers will tip off at 2:00 p.m. and you can watch it live on ESPN2. Notre Dame is struggling this year with a .500 record right now and in the bottom half of the ACC conference.
If the loss to Florida State gave Pitt doubters a big reason to put them on the bubble, a loss or even two this coming week, could stick a pin firmly into that bubble.
