2014 ACC Tournament: Pitt early underdogs against Virginia

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Spor

Pitt knocked off North Carolina, but even after two impressive games against Wake Forest and the Tar Heels, the Panthers are still underdogs in the ACC Tournament.

So far, Virginia looks to be a 3 1/2-point favorite against the Panthers for Saturday's game.

That sounds reasonable enough. Despite the wins Pitt has had, Virginia has just been flat out impressive this year, and have the head to head win against the Panthers in Pittsburgh under their belts. I give Pitt a fighting chance, but it's hard to complain about that line too much.

The good news for Pitt is that they played about as horrible a game as they could have and still nearly won that first time. The Panthers shot 32% in that game and while they did an adequate job defensively (held Virginia to 40% shooting and sent them to the line only 12 times)  the offense couldn't have been much worse.
