Pitt center Talib Zanna participated in the Reese's All-Star Game on Friday night as part of the NCAA's Final Four weekend. The game featured seniors hoping to showcase their skills and Zanna didn't disappoint.
Information on the game is pretty scarce right now as it was on tape delay (will air on Saturday on CBS at noon). But the Dallas Morning News says that the center grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. The PG's Brian Batko says that he also scored eight points, giving him a pretty strong night.
Zanna played on the East team, which won 87-75. Six of his teammates got into double figures in scoring and Jerrelle (not to be confused with Jor-El) Benimon from Towson was the MVP of the game with 15 points and eight rebounds. Reese's also declared a West MVP, Northwestern's Drew Crawford. That leads us into the uncomfortable photo of the two presumably holding their MVP 'trophies.'
