Been sitting on this for a while, but in case you hadn't seen it yet, the ACC announced a few more game times for Pitt football this season.
Jim already covered that the Panthers' opener will be at noon against Delaware (and man, how's that for a change from last year's nationally-televised game against the Florida State Seminoles last year?). A lot of people hate noon games, but Pitt really had little choice here with the Pirates game at 4:05 p.m. As an aside, maybe I'll finally be able to talk the wife into going to both.
Eh, probably not.
At any rate, a couple of more game times were announced for national telecast games. On September 5th, Pitt will play at Boston College at 7:00 p.m. in their Friday night game on ESPN. On Thursday, October 16th, Pitt will play Virginia Tech at home at 7:30 p.m., also on ESPN.
You can check out some of the other game times announced for ACC teams here.
I'm not a huge fan of Thursday/Friday night college football (at least involving the Panthers), but the huge benefit that can't be ignored is getting the spotlight on the program and a good amount of national exposure.
