Chas Alecxih gets another NFL shot with San Diego Chargers

Steve Mitchell-US PRESSWIRE

I got to this on Twitter a few days ago, but just now getting around to mentioning it here. Former Pitt defensive lineman Chas Alecxih is getting another shot in the NFL - this time with the San Diego Chargers. He was signed off of waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs, who just released him.

As SB Nation Blog Bolts from the Blue predicts in that link, Alecxih could have been signed as insurance for some other players projected to be ahead of him on the depth chart. But hopefully he gets his chance to stick.

Alecxih initially was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Miami Dolphins back in 2012. He spent most of his time there on the practice squad then went to Kansas City. The non-Pitt fans mostly know Alecxih from his days in Miami from the Hard Knocks show.

Alexcih has played in some preseason games, but not any regular season games from what I can tell.
