Against the Odds: Pitt favored against Iowa on Saturday by up to a touchdown

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Through three games this year, Pitt has been favored against all of their opponents. That's again the case as the Panthers host Iowa at Heinz Field this weekend.

Pitt being favored isn't a huge surprise, but the movement on the line has been interesting to watch. The Panthers opened up as four-point favorites, but are being favored more as we get closer to the game. As of Tuesday night, Pitt was a 6.5-7 point favorite against Iowa. We're still a while from this weekend's game, but for the line to go up a few points this soon is something to watch.

What this all really means is that more people are betting on Pitt to win than not, so the points are going up to encourage some action the other way. Simply put, people like the Panthers in this one.

It's really hard not to like Pitt in this one - particularly with the game being at home. Pitt has looked like the better team through three games and gets Iowa at Heinz Field. When you add it all up, it doesn't seem outlandish that the Panthers are a touchdown favorite this weekend.
