Pitt vs. Virginia game time, TV announced

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Pitt still has business to take care of against Akron this week, but next weekend, the Panthers will take on Virginia. While the focus this week is on the Zips, the game time and TV schedule have been announced for the game against the Cavaliers.

The game is at Virginia and will be a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Locally, the game will be on TV via Root Sports (possibly elsewhere out of the area), and ESPN also has it tabbed as an ESPN3 game.

The key here is that a difficult game for Pitt has been made more difficult by the night game. Road games are generally a challenge anyway, and when you throw in the added benefit of a rowdy crowd during a night contest for Virginia, it just makes things more difficult for the Panthers.

Not to get ahead of ourselves, but facing Akron this weekend, Pitt will have a strong chance to begin the season at 4-1. Virginia, meanwhile, should be 3-2, as they play an 0-3 Kent State team this weekend.
