The Pittsburgh Panthers have won their fair share of games under head coach Jamie Dixon. Since Dixon took over head coaching duties in 2003, his teams have won at least 20 games every season. His teams have also managed to win 30+ games twice during this 11 seasons at the helm.
The graduation of forwards Lamar Patterson and Talib Zanna will certainly be felt. With that said, there are plenty of young and talented players ready to pick up the slack.
Many have criticized Pitt's non-conference schedule in past seasons; they haven't really put themselves through the gauntlet. However, the Panthers will only enjoy eight non-conference games in the Petersen Events Center this season. Although, the annual "city" game against Duquesne is played in downtown Pittsburgh.
Pitt will certainly play tougher opponents early in their schedule; they play at Indiana on December 2nd, and potentially have an early season matchup against San Diego State during the EA Sports Maui Invitational in late November.
If you haven't had a chance to check the team's schedule, you can view it on the school's official site, here.
