(Don't) Bet The Farm: NC State

New, 4 comments

Suddenly the Panthers are streaking and look to take their current hot streak into the start of ACC play against NC State.

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Pitt Panthers are on a roll and so are the writers of this fine blog. As you can see below, myself and Anson lead the pack, but only by one game. The Panthers are riding a six game winning streak and in their last contest against Florida Gulf Coast, actually looked like the old Pitt Panthers.

Unlike Pitt, NC State will stumble into today's contest on an up and down stretch over their last five games. The Wolfpack is 2-3 in that time frame and hold a 10-4 record overall. The Pack has already had an ACC game where they took out Wake Forrest, so Mark Gottfried's team does stand at 1-0 in the conference.

You can catch the game locally on WTAE later on today well before the Penguins and Steelers play. If you don't live in Pittsburgh, check your local listings for a noon tip-off (it will also be on WatchESPN/ESPN3) at PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC.

Has Pitt finally found some chemistry? It certainly looked like it against Florida Gulf Coast, where Panther fans were reminded what active defense and efficient shooting looks like. They looked like the Jamie Dixon teams Pitt fans have come to love and it can't have come at a better time.

Below are the official picks for the game - Jim is the loner on this one. Comment below to let us know if you agree or disagree with all of us sticking with the Panthers for this game.

Anson (4-1): Pitt

Chris (4-1): Pitt

Aron (3-2): Pitt

JD (3-2): Pitt

Jim (3-2): NC State

Stephen (3-2): Pitt
