This weekend, Pitt faces Georgia Tech on the road. Despite getting mostly healthy, the Panthers do have some injuries to watch.
The big injury sustained last weekend against Virginia was the loss of starting linebacker Nic Grigsby, who came out of the game and didn't return. Head coach Pat Narduzzi indicated in his weekly press conference that he could have probably come back to play but also that he would be limited this week in practice. His status seems to be up in the air.
The running back situation looks to be a little more crowded than last weekend. With the emergence of Chris James in that game, he looks to be a candidate for more carries. But true freshman Darrin Hall, who sat out with an injury, is expected to be back. This week, Narduzzi said that he actually could have gone last weekend and that he would be ready on Saturday. Assuming he plays, it will be interesting to see how the carries are split up.
Finally, Narduzzi said that safety Reggie Mitchell is still day-to-day. As we've discussed in prior weeks, though, with Terrish Webb and Jordan Whitehead playing so well right now, this only really becomes an issue if Pitt sustains an injury there.
