As a team, Pitt fell short against Notre Dame this past weekend, dropping their contest, 42-30. But the Panthers again managed to take home some individual awards from the ACC. Jordan Whitehead and Ejuan Price were both recognized by the conference on Monday for their strong play this past weekend.
Whitehead, our Panther of the Week, was the Rookie of the Week. Playing on both sides of the ball, he had 11 tackles, 1 1/2 for losses, and also scored two rushing touchdowns. For Whitehead, it was the second time he was named the ACC's top rookie (he also won the award against Virginia earlier in the season).
Price had eight tackles, two sacks, and a big fumble return for a touchdown late in the game. He also had 2 1/2 tackles for losses. For his efforts, he was the Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week.
The Panthers have won a weekly award after every game, except against the Tar Heels in the team's Thursday night loss at home.
