Doctor Robert: Pitt-Louisville Injury Report

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

When last we left you, the big injury news surrounding the Pitt football team was that the Panthers would be down a couple of defensive linemen for their game against Duke. Seems the team might get at least one of them back for this weekend against Louisville.

Both Mark Scarpinato and Tyrique Jarrett missed Pitt's contest last weekend. Scarpinato again looks doubtful per the Panthers' official injury report for the game against the Cardinals, but Jarrett is listed as probable.

Also out for the game is wide receiver Chris Wuestner.

Getting Jarrett back is good news and hopefully will help the pass rushing abilities. Pitt didn't miss them last week, but Duke was also playing without starting quarterback Thomas Sirk. The Panthers face Louisville's Kyle Bolin, who, as I wrote about in the preview, has played well lately in relief of former starter Lamar Jackson. He is a pocket passer with the ability to throw the ball well and when you add that the Cardinals don't rely too much on the running game (they are 81st in the nation) Pitt will need all they can get in terms of pressure against him as you can probably expect them to throw a good bit.
