Pitt-Louisville to get late afternoon kickoff time

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Stop the presses - Pitt is not due for a noon kickoff time.

Noon kickoffs have been the norm for the Panthers this year, but the team will actually get a later start in their contest against the Louisville Cardinals in a couple of weeks.

When the Panthers face the Cardinals on Saturday, November 21st, they'll kick off either at 3:30 p.m. or 3:45 p.m. The game will also be broadcast on ESPN2, ESPNU, or ESPNEWS.

I know kickoff times get a lot of publicity and that a lot of people enjoy the later ones. Me? I'm generally not tailgating for hours before a game so I honestly don't mind getting out of the stadium at a decent hour and having part of the day still left. But for those traveling into town and students still recovering from Saturday night adventures in South Oakland especially, it's a great benefit.

Exact game time and TV channel still to be decided, but you can at least plan for a kickoff later in the day.
