The Panthers are back on the winning track after an impressive upset over Notre Dame and then an ugly victory over Bryant. Pitt is at a crossroads for the season. Jamie Dixon's squad stands at 15-8 and 4-5 in the ACC. What kind of team do they want to be? Where are they headed? Fortunately, their opponent on Saturday is in the same boat and it is a familiar one: Syracuse.
The Orange look the same this season with their zone defense and head coach Jim Boeheim. However, they are standing with almost the same record as Pitt with a mark of 15-7 and 6-3 in the conference. Add to that, that the Panthers have given Syracuse fits over the years in the Big East and for some odd reason do well against the Oranges' trademark zone defense, and Syracuse has a big game on their hands tomorrow.
Jamel Artis will need to continue his hot streak that saw another Panther of the Week performance last week and he's off to a hot start this week as well. He'll try and feed off of the Zoo at 4PM tomorrow when The Pete provides the setting for Pitt and Syracuse. If you can't be at "The Blackout" live, you can see it, along with everyone else, on ESPN2.
Below are the official picks for the game. Comment below to let us know who you think wins this one.
Anson (7-4): Pitt
Chris (7-4): Pitt
Aron (6-5): Syracuse
JD (6-5): Pitt
