Pitt had somewhat of a close call last time out after blowing a big lead against Boston College. Fortunately the Panthers prevailed at home, but today's game is on the road.
Wake Forest isn't one of the better teams in the ACC, but to overlook them would be foolish. Not only is Pitt away from home, but the Demon Deacons have at times played well.
They've beaten both Miami and North Carolina State - two teams with NCAA Tournament hopes. They lost by one to Virginia, three to Syracuse, and two to Clemson. If you're questioning if they have what it takes to beat Pitt, that should answer your questions.
Wake is also a particularly dangerous team because they've got nothing to play for. They won't be an NCAA Tournament team and won't be playing tense. They've really got nothing to lose and those can often be the most difficult teams to beat.
This is a game Pitt should win. But without knowing which Wake team will show up (the one that nearly beat Virginia or the one that just lost to them by 36), nothing should be taken for granted.
The game is at 6:30 p.m. and on ESPNU. Join us to comment live during the game.
