Pitt vs. George Washington: Open Gamethread

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Pitt men's basketball team continues its season with an NIT game tonight against George Washington.

The key for most of us is to see which team shows up. The Panthers have beaten the likes of Notre Dame and North Carolina. Pitt has several flaws in their game but proved with those wins that they have the ability to hold their own against anyone in the NIT. Unfortunately as we saw in the last four games, that included losses to Wake Forest and Florida State, a first-round loss isn't entirely out of the question. The game is also a 4/5 matchup, so the NIT selection committee has to feel these teams are pretty even, too.

The best thing Pitt has going for them is obviously the fact that they get the game at home. Despite the freefall at the end of the year, the Panthers were 14-3 at The Pete this season.

The game is at 7:00 p.m. tonight on ESPN in a nationally-televised game. Join us here to comment live during the contest.
