Poll of the Week: Hire of Scott Barnes as Pitt athletic director

Pitt hires Utah State Athletic Director, Scott Barnes, after an exhaustive search. What do you think of the choice?

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Last week, Pitt hired a new athletic director to replace Steve Pederson. The choice, Scott Barnes, comes from Utah State where he was very successful and is known as a great fundraiser and deal maker. His teams also saw a fair amount of winning success during his years for the Aggies. The hire is receiving loads of positive reviews locally and nationally. Barnes comes to Pitt after not only fundraising well, but building a strong football program.

The other side of the coin is that leading a P5 program will be a step up in class and competing in the ACC could prove more difficult. Read the options below and let us know your thoughts on the new Pitt hire.  I won't hash out all of Barnes' credentials, but it was a long process and the Panthers certainly did their homework, as well as listened to their coaches, such as Pat Narduzzi and Jamie Dixon. Did they make the right choice?
