ACC Coaches Committee supports NCAA changes, including early signing day

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

As per Jerry DiPaola of the Tribune Review, the ACC Coaches Committee is in favor of adding an early signing day for football. The proposed NCAA change would add a signing day in mid-December to protect kids from the crazy recruitment process and give them an early out.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney is in support of the change. He said that he has lobbied for an August signing day but will take what he can get.

The coaches committee also supported the planned cost-of-attendance stipends that schools will began to dish out to players in the coming academic year. Each school can decide their own cost-of-attendance and each school varies in stipend price.

Pat Narduzzi, Scott Barnes, Jamie Dixon, and Suzie McConnell-Serio attended the meetings on behalf of the Panthers.

An early signing day just seems to make sense for kids that are firm in their commitment. For more, read DiPaiola's article.
