Early 2015-16 odds to win NCAA basketball championship

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Bovada has released its early 2015-16 odds to win the NCAA basketball championship. As you'd expect, the Panthers aren't exactly high up on the list.

After missing the tournament entirely this past year, Pitt has 200:1 odds to win it all. If you're wondering where that stands in terms of other teams, the Panthers' 200:1 odds rank 49th overall.

I expect a little more from Pitt this season and could see them threatening to get into the Top 25. But the fact is that whenever you miss the tournament and don't land any big-time five-star recruits, it's difficult to get noticed. I like the fact that Pitt's young stars all got a year older and the team didn't lose much. But, overall, it's not too surprising that they rank so low on the list.

Maryland is the favorite to win it all at 9:1, and ACC teams Duke and North Carolina are close behind at 10:1. fellow ACC teams Virginia, Louisville, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Miami, North Carolina State, and Florida State all have better odds than the Panthers.
