Pitt women's basketball team to play Michigan in ACC-Big Ten Challenge, joins Paradise Jam field

Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

The women's basketball pairings for the ACC-Big Ten Challenge were announced recently and Pitt will take on Michigan as part of the event. For the Panthers, it will be a road game as they'll travel to face the Wolverines.

The Panthers and Wolverines could have gotten a better draw if only for the fact that they've played each other the past two years already as games not part of the Challenge. Pitt is 1-1 against Michigan in those games, easily winning this past season, 85-64 at home.

As a separate scheduling note, if you're looking for vacation ideas, the Pitt women will also play in the 2015 Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands. There, the Panthers will face a somewhat stiff test taking on 2015 NCAA Tournament team South Dakota State, Old Dominion, and Maryland, who has made the Final Four the past two years, on consecutive days from November 26-28.

Pitt loses guard Brianna Kiesel to the WNBA, but returns a strong core (three of five starters) from their NCAA Tournament team next year.
