One of Pitt's top-2016 recruits, point guard Tony Carr has dropped Pitt from the list of schools in which he is considering.
As per Josh Verlin of City of Basketball Love, the four-star is down to his final five, Temple, Maryland, Providence, Penn State and SMU.
His AAU and now high school teammate, Lamar Stevens, has Pitt as one of the schools that he will take an official visit to. The two have said multiple times that they would like to play basketball together at the next level. It appears as Pitt will not be that school, if they are lucky enough to even get Stevens.
All but Providence from Carr's list have also offered Stevens so far. Pitt still has interest in a number of 2016 point guards, most notably Cassius Winston, a four-star PG who plays for the AAU program formerly run by Pitt assistant coach Marlon "Smoke" Williamson.
2016 will be the first season the Dixon and the Panthers will be without the services of James Robinson who will graduate after the 2015-16 season, he has started in every game since arriving in Oakland.
