Earlier this year, it was announced that Pitt was selected to play Purdue in this year's Big Ten-ACC Challenge game. On Tuesday, more details were released about the game.
The Panthers will face the Boilermakers on Tuesday, December 1st with a 9:00 p.m. tipoff. As was originally announced, Pitt will host the game at the Petersen Events Center, which will provide an edge. All games in the event are hosted on the ESPN family of networks and those not able to make the game will be able to see it on ESPN2.
It's not ESPN, but nonetheless, still a nationally-televised, high profile contest against a decent opponent. Should be a great crowd for the game.
Pitt is 1-1 in the annual event, defeating Penn State in 2013 and losing to Indiana last season. As noted by the Post-Gazette, Pitt is 4-6 all-time against Purdue and the teams haven't played since 1977.
