Tyler Boyd named ACC Receiver of the Week

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

In his second game of the season, Pitt wide receiver Tyler Boyd made another big statement, recording a double-digit reception game against the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday. For his efforts, Boyd was named the ACC's Receiver of the Week.

Boyd had ten catches 131 yards and a touchdown against Iowa. He was especially good on the team's game-tying drive when he added three catches, including a fourth-down grab, and the touchdown. Boyd continues to be the favorite target of his quarterbacks, averaging 10.5 catches per game this season.

He is now second on the program's all-time list for career receptions, only 18 away from breaking Devin Street's record. Of course, it's noteworthy that Boyd will achieve the mark in his junior season while Street played four years with the Panthers.

The Pitt wideout became the fifth Panther to be honored in the weekly ACC awards, joining several players including Nicholas Grigsby, Tyrique Jarrett, Avonte Maddox, and Qadree Ollison.
