Pitt vs. Georgia Tech TV Schedule and Open Gamethread

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The No. 21/24 Pitt Panthers take on a 10-4 Georgia Tech team tonight at home in the team's second ACC game after knocking of Syracuse last week.

Pitt heads into the game as a pretty clear favorite with an 8-9 point advantage in the line. Jim checked in earlier with a preview of the game, which you should read.

If you're trying to figure out the Yellow Jackets, good luck with that. They're 10-4 and have been a little all over the map. They own wins over major-conference teams Tennessee and Arkansas, defeated VCU, and played reasonably well against North Carolina in an 8-point loss. They also were beaten by 17 against Villanova and 14 against Georgia, lost to ETSU, and had to rally from behind to defeat Duquesne by only six. I think you can make the argument that they are a bit of an unknown like Pitt is right now, but the Panthers have also been a little more stable.

Like the Syracuse game, while this is no gimme, I think it's a game the team can (and probably should) win. Nothing is certain in conference games, but Pitt has looked a little more impressive (albeit, against a lighter schedule). This is one of those games that may not be a terrible loss, but one that you want to avoid losing if you're not going to beat the heavyweights in the conference.

Game time is at 7:00 p.m. Locally, you can see it on Root Sports while it will be on ESPN3 elsewhere.
