Going Scouting: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Pitt will meet a familiar opponent in a week. It is one that has confused them a number of times since joining the ACC and you can get a sneak peek today at Georgia Tech.

I think we all know the frustrations of playing the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and their triple option offense. We know that the Pitt Panther defense knows it all too well with them, and Navy, lining up against the Panthers the last few years. Well, it’s that time of year again and here come the Yellow Jackets again. Fortunately, you can get a sneak peek today before you settle in for the Pitt and Marshall game.

The schedule makers did us a favor today and Georgia Tech will host the Miami Hurricanes at noon this afternoon. This comes one week before Tech visits Heinz Field for homecoming next Saturday. The Yellow Jackets are currently 3-1, with their lone loss coming last game, against the top-five ranked Clemson Tigers. Before that loss, GT was able to get by Boston College, Vanderbilt, and Mercer. Miami will come into the game 14th in the country, so The Rambling Wreck is hitting their tough stretch right now.

They do have the comfort of playing at Bobby Dodd Stadium today, while coach Paul Johnson tries to pull the upset. You can watch on ESPN2, before you take in the Pitt game against the Thundering Herd. This gives you plenty of time to get in a little scouting before heading over to Heinz Field.
