Going Scouting: Syracuse Orange

Pitt will face a familiar foe next week, but to scout out the Orange, you will need to keep your head on a swivel.

You may need to use your DVR or head to a bar with multiple TVs this week to scout out next week’s opponent. Pitt kicks off at 3:00 p.m. while their next opponent, Syracuse, will be playing at the same time.

The Syracuse Orange are, of course, a familiar opponent. Next week’s regular season finale against them will be a 12:30 p.m. kickoff.

Today, the Orange will be playing host to the No. 17 ranked Florida State Seminoles today. Kickoff for that game is at 3:30 p.m. - just a bit after the Panthers’ start. You will be able to catch the Syracuse game on either ESPN2 or ABC. The good news is that it is on TV but the bad news, as mentioned, is that they’re playing the Panthers’ contest.

The game will be at the Carrier Dome, but head coach Dino Babers might be without star quarterback Eric Dungey. Syracuse comes into the game with a 4-6 record. However, they have had a few bright spots and Dungey was one of them this season. This looks like it will be a rough one for the Orange, but as Clemson learned last week, anything can happen in the ACC.
