Pitt vs. Rice: Open Gamethread

Been a while, right?

We haven't had any basketball in a while but with all of the football and athletics director news, I don't think many of us have noticed.

The hoops team is back in action tonight against Rice after a break for finals week. The Panthers have looked a little shaky in the last three contests, losing against Duquesne and holding on for wins after nearly giving up big leads against Buffalo and Penn State. Hopefully the break did them good.

Rice, for what it's worth, won't be your typical non-power conference cupcake. Like they Panthers, they sport an 8-2 record. They're also four points away from being undefeated, losing to Texas Tech (on the road) by one and Texas Southern by three. As Chris wrote earlier, Pitt is favored, but Rice is not a team they can afford to sleep on.
