Sure, we're in the middle of a current basketball season right now. But the conference made a little bit of news on Friday announcing conference schedules for the next two years.
The highlight of those schedules for the Panthers in my estimation is that they will get both home and away series with North Carolina and Duke. In 2016-17, Pitt will face North Carolina for a pair of games - one at home and one on the road. Other home/away series' that year include Louisville, Syracuse, and Virginia. The following season, the Panthers get Duke both home and away, along with Louisville, Syracuse, and Miami.
In case you've not yet seen the full conference schedules for each of those years (sans the dates/times, which are TBA), here they are:
Pitt 2016-17
Home/Road: Louisville, Syracuse, North Carolina, Virginia
Home: Florida State, Miami, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame
Road: Georgia Tech, Duke, Wake Forest, NC State, Boston College
Pitt 2017-18
Home/Road: Louisville, Syracuse, Miami, Duke
Home: Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, NC State, Virginia, Boston College
Road: Florida State, Clemson, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame
It's hard to know how difficult these will be since we don't know just how good the conference teams will be (let alone the Panthers). But seeing Pitt play both home/away series with the Tar Heels and Blue Devils should be exciting.
