Pitt landed it's 24th and final commitment for the 2016 recruiting class just now. Rashad Weaver chose the Panthers over other finalists Penn State and Temple. Weaver visited both Pitt and Penn State last week in an abbreviated recruitment for all parties involved. Jim Harbaugh's aggressive recruiting led to Michigan moving on from Weaver, despite his commitment to the Wolverines for over seven months. It also forced his hand into rushing a second recruitment.

Weaver's story drew much attention nationally, and generally some negative publicity for Michigan and Harbaugh. Still, the Wolverines are well on their way to a top five finish recruiting anyway. After his de-commitment, a number of schools got in contact with Weaver, but the three Pennsylvania schools caught his eye the most, and he ultimately made his choice to play for Pat Narduzzi moments ago.
Weaver is a 6'5" 250 pound Defensive End from Cooper City, Florida. He is a good athlete, and also has drawn some interest playing tight end on offense. Pitt has time to figure out what to do with him, but he is an excellent way to close out the 2016 recruits class.
