Kevin Stallings is barely on the job at Pitt as the new men's basketball coach, but he's already working to secure a top recruit.
Word leaked on Sunday that Stallings has already reached out to four-star 2017 point guard Aaron Thompson and offered him a scholarship to Pitt. Thompson is a four-star point guard according to Scout (Rivals says he's a three-star) and he has several offers already, including those from Stallings' old school, Vanderbilt, UConn, Miami, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and others.
One interesting thing of note here is that Thompson is a current teammate of 2016 Pitt signee, forward Corey Manigault.
Stallings, of course, will have some work to do to keep the players from Pitt's 2016 recruiting class fully on board now that former head coach Jamie Dixon is gone - Manigault, guard Justice Kithcart, and guard Crisshawn Clark are the three guys in that group expected to be here for this fall. Those guys are signed but there shouldn't be any issue for them should they want a release from Pitt (insert Sheldon Jeter transfer joke here).
