Following the Panthers' disappointing showing at the ACC Tournament this past weekend, I mentioned the five Pitt wrestlers that were bound for the NCAA Tournament. On Tuesday, the NCAA added a sixth that will be joining them in the postseason event

Freshman TeShan Campbell received an at-large selection to the event and will join Pitt grapplers L.J. Bentley, Dom Forys, Cody Wiercioch, Nick Bonaccorsi, and Ryan Solomon, who earned slots based on their performances at the ACC Tournament. Pitt also had six wrestlers there last year when the team finished 21st overall, largely on the back of Tyler Wilps, who reached the finals. Two years ago in 2014, the Panthers had eight representatives, and finished 22nd.

As a true freshman, Campbell had a pretty solid year for the Panthers. He was second on the team with 17 wins and also scored a win at the ACC Tournament. He was impressive for much of the year at 174 pounds and it will be good for he and Bentley to get some experience at NCAAs as freshmen.

The NCAA Tournament will take place March 17, 18, and 19 in New York.
