Earlier, I wrote about Suzie McConnell Serio's adventures in coaching a Team USA squad in international competition. Recently, Pitt volleyball head coach Dan Fisher was named to another Team USA coaching post as well.

Fisher will head up the U.S. Women's National Team this summer at the 2016 Pan American Cup. He won't have much time to prepare with the event starting on June 30th and Fisher won't even begin working with the team until ten days before that on June 20th. From there, he'll need to trim his roster and get them ready to play.

For Fisher, it's another international opportunity in a short amount of time. Just last year, he coached the women's national team to the 2015 Pan American Games gold medal. He was also a part of Team USA coaching staffs in 2012 (Pan American Cup) and 2007 (World University Games).

He appears to be building a nice little niche for himself here and as I said in the case of McConnell-Serio, even if you don't consider these sorts of events big deals, they bring good recognition to the school and reflect well on Fisher's abilities when he's out on the recruiting trail.
