Several Pitt athletes win ACC community service awards

I realize that stuff like this often gets pushed to the back burner in terms of fan interest but I appreciate sharing it whenever possible since I think it's important. That's especially true in the offseason when things sort of come to a lull and there's a little more time to focus on non-game related items.

This week, several Pitt athletes received some nice off-field recognition for community service work by the ACC as part of their Top Six for Service Awards given to six recipients from each member of the conference. Pitt award winners included offensive tackle Adam Bisnowaty, wrestler Dom Forys, track and field's Becky Peters, and volleyball's Amanda Orchard. In addition, the entire football team and entire swimming and diving programs were also honored for their community work.

You can read more about what each winner did to win the award over on the official athletics department site. They have a good rundown of activities and groups that each supported in various ways.
