Pitt vs. Penn State to be broadcast nationally on ESPN

NCAA Football: Villanova at Pittsburgh Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

For quite a while, we knew that Pitt’s upcoming game against rival Penn State would be played at noon next weekend at Heinz Field. The game will be the first time the teams have played since 2000. What we didn’t know, however, was the television schedule and where it could be watched.

That information was released by the Pitt athletics department earlier this morning and the game (er, I mean, the Keystone Classic) next Saturday will be broadcast by ESPN.

When the noon kickoff time was revealed earlier this year, it was known that the game would be played either on ABC or ESPN, so this isn’t a big surprise. Obviously, ABC would have been the prime spot but ESPN isn’t bad, either - especially for two unranked teams.

So if you’re not heading down to the stadium to watch in person, you’ll have to tune in to ESPN for the big game.
