King of the Hill: Week 9 ACC Football Power Rankings

NCAA Football: Pittsburgh at Duke Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

We had some pretty crazy results this weekend and that’s led to some juggling in our weekly ACC football power rankings.

The biggest jumps go to Boston College and Louisville, who both won this weekend. Each jumped four spots because of their wins, other teams’ losses, and their records over the teams below them.

Virginia was blown out by the Eagles and took a big fall. I don’t know how many 5-2 teams you’ll see that low in the standings. And locally, Pitt moves up a couple of spots, leapfrogging Duke, whom they just beat, and jumping ahead of Virginia after their ugly loss.

As usual, let me know you agree/disagree with.

1. (1) Miami (6-0) - 27-19 win over Syracuse

2. (2) Clemson (6-1) - Bye

3. (3) Virginia Tech (6-1) - 59-7 win over North Carolina

4. (4) North Carolina State (6-1) - Bye

5. (5) Georgia Tech (4-2) - 38-24 win over Wake Forest

6. (6) Syracuse (4-4) - Lost to Miami

7. (11) Boston College (4-4) - 41-10 win over Virginia

8. (12) Louisville (5-3) - 31-28 win over Florida State

9 (7) Florida State (2-4) - Lost to Louisville

10. (8) Wake Forest (4-3) - Lost to Georgia Tech

11. (13) Pitt (3-5) - 24-17 win over Duke

12. (9) Virginia (5-2) - Lost to Boston College
