Pitt men’s soccer NCAA Team of the Week after upset wins

Pitt soccer field

The Pitt men’s soccer team made major strides as a program last week. First, they defeated #21 ranked Syracuse for its first ever ACC victory as a member of the conference. They didn’t stop there, though. After that impressive win, they scored an even bigger one, defeating No. 14 and then unbeaten Columbia.

The nation is taking notice of the program head coach Jay Vidovich is building and Pitt got some great national attention on Thursday when they were named the National Team of the Week by the NCAA.

Really impressive stuff. I mentioned this on Twitter recently, but while I expected Vidovich to turn things around at Pitt, I had no idea it would happen so quickly, especially considering how far the soccer team had fallen. In less than two years time, he already has them beating ranked programs.
