Many Pitt fans wondered about the status of Pitt running back Chawntez Moss during Saturday’s game against Syracuse. It was announced before the game that he did not travel with the team, which seemed odd considering that he started last week for Pitt and had been the top backup for the most part this season.
After the game, we got our answer:
Pat Narduzzi announces that Chawntez Moss is suspended indefinitely
— Lance Lysowski (@LLysowski) October 7, 2017
No word on how long this will last but the ‘indefinitely’ part isn’t encouraging.
Moss hasn’t been terribly effective this year but with Qadree Ollison being only moderately effective, losing him as an option isn’t great, either. If this stretches beyond this week, looks like Darrin Hall and A.J. Davis could see more action. And after his nice game Saturday, I expect we’ll continue to see Jordan Whitehead continue to be used in the running game.
On the year, Moss has 41 carries for only 113 yards and two touchdowns.
