Pitt quarterback Max Browne likely out for a few weeks

NCAA Football: Pittsburgh at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

In addition to the news that running back Chawntez Moss had been suspended, head coach Pat Narduzzi revealed even more bad news after Saturday’s loss to Syracuse.

Pitt quarterback Max Browne suffered an injury during Saturday’s game as he exited with apparent pain in his right arm. He didn’t return and the bad news is that he’s likely to miss more time.

Head coach Pat Narduzzi said after the game that he expects to lose Browne for a few weeks.

Browne wasn’t great on Saturday as he was last week against Rice. But he did look more comfortable and had thrown for 161 yards, completing 15 of his 22 passes against the Orange before his exit.

The injury also means we’re much more likely to see more from freshman Kenny Pickett. With his redshirt burned by inserting him into the final play of the game, there’s really no reason to save him at this point other than maybe for fearing throwing him to the wolves too soon.
