Kenny Pickett, Avonte Maddox honored with weekly ACC awards

This week, I listed Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett and cornerback Avonte Maddox as my Co-Panthers of the Week. Both also drew the attention of the ACC and won weekly awards from the conference as well.

Pickett was named the ACC Rookie of the Week for his performance against Miami as he accounted for all three of Pitt’s touchdowns and threw for 193 yards while rushing for 60 more.

Maddox was equally as impressive on defense with two sacks, two pass breakups, and a forced fumble. He was named the ACC’s Co-Defensive Back of the Week.
