After a week off, Pitt’s basketball team is back to it with a game against McNeese State today. The Panthers lost to No. 18 West Virginia last time out but kept the score respectable and even nearly winning.
With that game along with four consecutive wins right before that, the team carries a little momentum into this game. Facing 2-5 McNeese State at home, the Panthers are expected to win this one.
McNeese State has been brutal this year and their only two victories have come against NAIA team Southern-New Orleans and Ecclesia, a team in the National Christian College Athletic Association. They’ve lost their five games by an average of more than 20 points a game and only one, a six-point loss to Loyola-Marymount, was all that close.
In other words, a loss here would be pretty bad.
