Larry Fitzgerald will take time to make retirement decision

Former Pitt standout and NFL star receiver Larry Fitzgerald is putting the finishing touches on another season with the Arizona Cardinals. At some point, he will decide if he’s retiring from the game but that decision might not come for some time.

Speaking after his most recent game, Fitzgerald said that he isn’t sure when he’s going to make his decision.

The Arizona Cardinals wide receiver said Thursday he doesn't know when he'll make a decision, but it won't be right away.

"I'm going to take some time and figure it out," said Fitzgerald, who is 34 and in his 14th season.

Fitzerald has a one-year deal to remain with the team through 2018. He signed that deal only last month so it seems like he could be preparing to return. But that decision isn’t etched in stone and this year, he waited until early February before making the decision to play at least one more season.

The former Pitt star has had another excellent season so far. With one game to play, he is tied for second in the league with 101 catches and his 1,101 receiving yards rank eighth.
