Earlier this week, Mike wrote about Dion Lewis’ heroics in the Patriots’ win over the Buffalo Bills. The former Pitt star’s performance didn’t go unnoticed and he was named the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week.
Lewis ran for a career 129 yards in the game. He also had five catches for 24 yards and scored two touchdowns on the day.
He was also recognized by the league earlier this season. After Week 10, Lewis was named the conference’s Special Teams Player of the Week.
Lewis is easily having the best year of his career. His 803 yards on the ground are nearly three times his previous high of 283 and the seven touchdowns he has as a running back account for more than half his 13 career scores in that role. Finally, Lewis is also a big factor as a kick returner and has 570 yards on special teams while scoring his first ever touchdown as a return man this season.
